The 2008 Mustangs Presents

The Mustangs took a rather
unique "spin" into combining
some old fashioned audience
accessible color guard with
some real contemporary
musical vehicles.
The theme of Antagonistic Droogs was
quite fitting as to the personality of the
organization truly did embody some of
those adjectives exactly.
What started out as 13 became 12 then 10 before the home
show and ironically every positive that was seen prior to those
moments was erased. OH BUT WAIT...the 10 that were left on
the floor? What a great team! Again raising their own bars, rookies paved the way in conviction and confidence as veterans merely looked  and smiled as the young members  rose to the occasion to once again progress the guard to another level of sophistication and a continuation of training.
The ladies relearned much of the staging the day of their home show and performed it probably better than most home show events we have ever done! And, we were scored for the first time as well (in keeping up with our number of shows we need for championships) and the Mustangs moved to a 68.80
for the 3rd week in March! The NECGC's would be the finest show we have had as an organization, very well set up by the little sisters of the Ponies who took 5th in their 1st year in Cadet Class at NECG's. The guards traveled TOGETHER for the very first time and the 10 "Droogs" would antagonize each other and the audience one last time leaving an impression and mark for the organization that will be remembered positively for many years.
The majority of the Mustangs elevated their performance to the reward of some nice audience reaction. The placing's is not the REWARD, this was the difference between an award and reward as we taught throughout the season in guard school.  The Mustangs were indeed rewarded at NECGC's with compliments, applause and knowing that through all they have seen and experienced, the failures are those who didn't  "believe" didn't change the organization AT ALL.
Critical thinking is always "the winner", and now "karma" will take center stage as the guards retreat to recruit, reorganize to the next season and the 10th anniversary plans roll into focus.
If you think you've "seen it all" just wait...the staff and administrations are sure to surprise many in the coming months in ways that will possibly make you wonder "how did they know!?"
