results of this season

NARRATIVE:This season proved to be the most interesting, if not also successful in the Mustangs history.  A move up from Novice class to Independent Regional A and galloping through an undefeated regular season of competition, speared a run at the IRA Class title at the MYCGC Championships. in North Syracuse on April 6th, 2002.
In February, the Mustangs were scheduled to go to the WGI Southern New England Regional but bad weather  in MTM had us cancel out. The MTM Colts are officially born and make their very first appearance at the Sport of the Art show. The school and community  support has grown to levels never thought possible before. Plans for the Ponies are placed and 2003 will have 3 "teams of horses" trotting onto the guard floors.
For the first time in our history, we adopt a more traditional format of officers for the Mustangs Colourguard. (Captains, Co Captains and Section leaders). A wonderful job had been displayed by all officers and the future of peer mentoring and leadership will be bright. in and around the corral.
For the first time in our history, Amber Davis becomes the first Mustang alum who returns to be a staff member of the guard.
At the annual banquet, among many traditional elements and probably  the surprise of the year...
The Mustangs Colourguard is "officially" a sport recognized by the school! 8 Members receive  their varsity letter at the banquet: Megan,Tom, Jenn, Tracy, John, Courtney, Jessica and Lynda. The Mustangs are the 1st unit to medal 2 times out of only 3 years of existence in the 35 years of MYCGC.

*The tradition of a Senior  Dinner is started at the home of Mr and Mrs A.
This senior class marks the 1st class that over 80% of the seniors are award recipients at graduation.
60% of the senior class is on National Honor Society.
This is the highest academic average as a class  that the Mustangs colourguard have graduated to date.
There is plans for the Award Board to be displayed in the Sr. High gym, this class will be accredited for it's development.
